Here’s what others have to say about their WildPlay Co visit

“It was wonderful to welcome WildPlay Co into our service to experience their program connecting children to nature. We participated in two experiences, creating nature crowns and nature medals. The children handled real tools such as saws and hand drills and there was gentle one on one guidance as to their use. The visit fitted into the VEYLDF perfectly, relating to children developing knowledgeable and confident self-identities (IDENTITY), children becoming socially responsible and showing respect for the environment (COMMUNITY) and children developing a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, inquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating (LEARNING). The children were engaged, even when waiting for their turn to saw the wood for their medallion, and the conversations that organically unfolded were beautifully captured opportunities for learning. Supporting local business is very important to us and I would thoroughly recommend a visit from WildPlay Co to other early years services."

- Alison Knowles, Assisi Kindergarten Strathfieldsaye

LEVEL 3: TRAILBLAZER

Our TRAILBLAZER activities include either FIRE or WOOD WHITTLING. Children will learn to safely use the tools necessary and will be given the space and time to practice.

Examples of FIRE Activities:

  • Fire Striking

  • Bush Cooking

Examples of WHITTLING Activities:

  • Whittle Arrows

  • Craft Tent Pegs
